Caring For Your Ink

Leave your Saniderm on for at least 3 days. Tattoos will ooze ink and plasma, this is normal! If the seal on your bandage breaks at all, wash your hands and remove your Saniderm completely. Consult your artist with any questions if this happens.

After removal of your bandage, wash thoroughly with warm water and an antibacterial, non-scented soap, like Dial.

  • Pat dry with a clean towel. Don't rub!

  • Allow to air dry for 10 minutes.

  • Apply Lubriderm or Eucerin 4 times a day (ie. meal times and before bed).

  • You do not need to rebandage.

  • Repeat the above steps for 3 to 4 days, and try not to let your tattoo dry out.

Things to Avoid

  • Do not get in a pool, hot tub, sauna, or any other body of water.

  • Do not scratch your tattoo. Itching is normal! Pat tattoo gently if necessary.

  • Do not pick scabs! You can pull ink out by doing this.

  • Do not use hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol on your tattoo.

  • Do not participate in anything that will make you sweat excessively. This can break the seal on your Saniderm, allowing bacteria in.

  • Do not spend excessive amounts of time in the sun until your tattoo is healed. Then, apply sunscreen to protect your artwork from damaging UV rays. This is a frequently asked question
